Well I thought I’d start the blog with some background on why I started Joint Greetings and what I’m planning on doing with it.

By now I’m sure you know what the website is and does (if not then check out our landing page and docs). It all stemmed from ‘The Pandemic’ where most of those people lucky enough to keep their jobs generally started working from home. I’m guessing the pandemic brought forward the work from home ‘movement’ by quite a few years as companies were forced to figure out how to deal with this new reality a lot quicker than perhaps they would have liked. Along side this life-threatening illness came lots of changes, some small, some big, and this website stemmed from definitely one of the very, very, small ones.

Someone in my team had a birthday.

Who knew that even during something as life-changing, appalling and anxiety inducing as the pandemic people would still be having birthdays! However unlike in previous years we weren’t all in the office to sign the card so we all just ended up sending separate emails and it just wasn’t the same. So, you guessed it, I started JointGreetings.com.

Like I said, it seems very inconsequential in the grand scheme of things but hopefully it will end up bringing a bit of joy to some people and after all of this is over(!) I’m sure the distributed team momentum will continue and it will still get used by all the teams that never end up getting back in the same office every day.
